From seal physiology to ancient alcohol habits and prejudice in the workplace today, our August issue tackles a wide range of chemistry conundrums. And it doesn’t stop there – Rolf Halden explores health monitoring through wastewater analysis, Steve Wilson talks analytical technologies in organoid research, and our expert panel dig deep into ion mobility. These discussions then spill over into this month’s Sitting Down With, as Erin Baker tells us about how she keeps her “eye on mobility” and life in this space. New simulation tool for GC
Restek provides a web program, called “ProEZGC”, that allows anyone to simulate separations and change all the GC parameters on-line and experience how separations are impacted. This article describes this program, a free tool that anyone can use, based on calculating retention times based on real measurements. Jaap de Zeeuw explains.

Which is good, since analytical scientists everywhere in the world cannot stick to one technique: we need to expand our toolbox to solve analytical problems. So we embedded 'Spectroscopist Inside' in The Analytical Scientist with a bimonthly frequency.
