Luminescence
1) Fill in the missing labels for the indicated locations (a-j) for the partial energy diagram for a photoluminescent system. Provide a brief description for each process.
2) What properties of a molecule affect its ability to produce a luminescence signal? How could the enhanced sensitivity of fluorescence detection be taken advantage of in a quantitative method for a compound that doesn’t naturally fluoresce?
3) Draw a block diagram or simple instrument diagram for an instrument that could be used to measure luminescence.
