Method transfer between HPLC and UHPLC
Davy Guillarme, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences University of Geneva, University of Lausanne Analytical Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Switzerland
Abstract This chapter describes the rules for the successful transfer of conventional HPLC methods to UHPLC for isocratic and for gradient modes. Apart from the time or efficiency gains, as an additional advantage the transfer of a method to UHPLC can also improve the sensitivity and significantly decrease the solvent and sample consumption, thereby contributing to the current trend toward green chemistry.
