Analytical Strategies for doping analyses

Abstract This chapter describes the analytical strategies used for doping control analyses. Different analytical techniques are used in function of the physico-chemical properties of an analyte and the biological matrix. Examples of applications in the anti-doping field using UHPLC-MS(/MS) will be also discussed. In particular, this chapter focuses on the qualitative and quantitative analysis, direct or indirect detection, as well as novel untargeted approaches. This includes high-throughput development for screening analysis of a maximum of substances in a biological sample and enhanced chromatographic resolution for targeted confirmatory analysis. We will show several UHPLC-MS and MS/MS applications for doping control analysis.
