When do we use Raman spectrometry

Abstract Raman spectroscopy is a fast, simple and inexpensive method to determine the identity of an analyte. It can be used for relatively simple analysis, where Raman spectrum of the compound (‘analyte’) has to be compared with a standard spectrum. The information of a Raman spectrum could also be used for identification of a compound. A Raman spectrum provides a molecular fingerprint and is unique for every compound.
